Do you like Chinese food? Looking for someplace different and fun to eat? In need of a relaxing, informal atmosphere to chat with some friends? If you answered yes to these questions, then I have a great place for you to visit!
I was recently on a walk with Our Madrid around Plaza Espana, in which they pointed out a new restaurant (well at least for me) – El Rey de Tallarines. As my friends and I headed home on the metro we decided to set a date and give it a try.
We decided of course to be there by 12:45 for lunch – yes very early for here in Spain, but we didn’t want to miss the show! When you get there this early, be sure to ask for the table right in front of where the show is performed. On a daily basis at 13:00 and 21:00 you can catch the show, in which they prepare the noodles. I have to say it was quite impressive to watch him twirl and toss the noodles – I was waiting for some to end up on someone’s head.
Even though it was pouring outside the day we went, we had a great time – what was not to enjoy? Great food, great friends and a show! I hope to take my kids back to visit – entertainment for them and a good meal for me.
They are located at Calle San Bernardino 2 in Madrid. They are open Monday-Sunday from 12:30 – 17:00 and 19:30-00:00. Check them out if you get a chance. http://www.reydetallarines.com
