January’s Cine Doré retrospective is called De un Cine a Otro and features Spanish director Antonio Roman, whose film career spanned 4 decades from 1930-1969, from the Civil War through the Franco era.
A great window into Spanish culture, history, and early Spanish cinema. This movie is in Spanish, no subtitles. – Cine Doré is an Art Deco jewel run by the Ministry of Culture and Sport as an art cinema. Bombas Para la Paz, 1959 (86 mins) Just before dying, a scientist tells his helper he discovered a gas that provokes strong feelings of peace in anyone who smells it.
