We love when our members are enjoying their experience with INC!
Read on to find out what some of them say about INC Madrid.
“Where do I start…friendships, events, experiences, coffee, community & fun! As my three and half years in Madrid draws to an end so does my three years with INC. It’s always a little daunting to arrive to a new city and call it home but arriving in a pandemic was on another level. I can’t imagine how isolating it would have been if not for finding the INC and the beautiful people who welcomed me, were willing to exchange numbers and then said yes to meeting up. A caring and fun community that totally became my social circle, with the added bonus of friendships for life. So many fond memories I will take with me everywhere I go.
Join up – go on do it – best decision I made!“
LYNDALL BRIGGS (AUSSIE IN MADRID)
“The INC was a lifeline for me when I first arrived in Madrid in 2010. At my very first local coffee gathering I arrived armed with a notebook of questions which were immediately answered. Soon I found myself in the wonderful position of sharing my newfound knowledge of Madrid with brand new arrivals.
Whether you’re new to the city or simply wanting fun activities and connections in English, I highly recommend joining the INC and diving into all on offer!”
KELLY PIETRANGELI, AMERICAN/BRITISH/GLOBAL CITIZEN
”When I first came to Spain from the USA, I lived a very Spanish life and didn’t integrate much with the international community. Some years ago, it is quite a few, around 2004 maybe, I joined INC, a very important thing that I did. INC and our members have enriched my social and personal life amazingly. I am so glad I joined and so fortunate to be in our group. Thank you all.”
MARJORIE, ORIGINALLY FROM USA, NOW I ADD SPANISH TO MY NATIONALITY
“INC means Friendship, Fun and a big Family for me, throughout the years.”
BRIGITTE, BELGIAN, MEMBER OF INC FOR 14 YEARS
“I have been an INC member for, I believe, 6 or 7 years. I have been living in Madrid for 24 years and am fully integrated in Spanish circles but when I retired I realized that I was also an expat and felt the desire to belong to a multicultural/multilingual association. INC has fulfilled this need: dynamic, active, well organized and structured and the variety of activities is huge. Our Board seem to have continuous new ideas not only to entertain us but also to show new members (with some help from long standing residents) the real life of Madrid (and Spain). The city helps as well, as it is a mine of culture and fun, and INC is well connected to it.
All age groups mingle well, different talents emerge and get rewarded. An important network is there ready to be exploited by the younger, professional ladies and everyone can find her niche to blossom and find worthwhile, lasting friendships. I am also grateful to INC for the friendly and warm support offered to me during a difficult time: the loss of my husband last year. I have helped out in my way by by hosting coffee mornings in my house, offering cookery classes, visits to places and a tea masterclass.”
